
Dr. Robert Nomberg
Founding President & CEO, Virginia Learns
As the founding President and CEO of Virginia Learns, Robert Nomberg leads the organization's efforts to build a more innovative and relevant public education system in Virginia. He is responsible for shaping Virginia Learns' vision and strengthening partnerships between business and education leaders across the Commonwealth.
Robert brings a unique blend of experience in education, philanthropy, and public policy. Prior to founding Virginia Learns, he served for over a decade as President & CEO of the Richmond Jewish Foundation. He began his career as a high school math and science teacher and football coach through Teach For America and later served as a public school administrator in Washington, DC, as part of the New Leaders program. Robert also worked as the education and workforce development advisor to former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman.
Robert holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama, a Master of Public Administration from the University of Michigan, a Master of Education Administration from Trinity University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Administration from The George Washington University.
A passionate advocate for education and workforce readiness, Robert frequently speaks with business and education leaders across Virginia on the future of public education and talent development.
